Acres for Joy remains committed to providing youth the opportunity to visit our ranch during these unprecedented times. The health and safety of our visitors, volunteers, and staff are of our utmost concern and as such, we are taking steps to ensure our property is in compliance with the Eau Claire County guidelines. As you know, these guidelines are ever-changing. As they change, Acres for Joy will change.

We value social distancing and the use of masks when social distancing cannot be maintained. We will begin each session by reviewing our current guidelines with participants. At that time we will provide disposable masks for those who do not have one. Though we have 29 acres of beautiful open space, we know there are times social distancing cannot be maintained.

Please read below for further details:

Acres for Joy:

  • Asks that workers and volunteers do not come to the property if they are experiencing COVID-19 like symptoms or have had contact with a person with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19.

  • Asks guests to refrain from visiting the property if they display COVID-19 like symptoms or have had contact with a person with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19.

What YOU can expect of Acres for Joy:

  • Will maintain 6 feet of social distancing when working with youth. When it is not feasible to maintain 6 feet of social distancing, AFJ will provide disposable masks (i.e. wagon rides, projects that require close proximity to one another).

  • If a household unit (individuals who live together) visits the property, masks will not be required of that household unit, though volunteers and staff will wear masks.

  • Review symptoms of COVID-19 verbally with staff and volunteers each day. Any staff experiencing symptoms shall be sent home and encourage to contact their health provider for testing for COVID-19.

  • Review symptoms of COVID-19 verbally with all visitors to the property prior to the activity. If a visitor is experiencing any symptoms, the visit will be rescheduled.

  • Increase standards of facility cleaning and disinfection to limit worker and patron exposure to COVID-19, as well as adopting protocols to clean and disinfect in the event of a positive COVID-19 case in the workplace.
